American-born and educated and hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Betsy Pie holds a BA undergraduate Degree in Business Administration and an MA graduate degree in Art History from Vanderbilt University. Other post graduate education includes completing the Sotheby’s Fine Arts course (decorative arts) in London.

Marriage to an Australian instigated a permanent move to Australia in 1985. Originally settling in Brisbane, Betsy worked in PR/Communications at The Queensland Art Gallery and World Expo ’88. This was followed by an 11 year stint as Public Relations Manager for the Brisbane Hilton (1989-2000) where she launched a number of special events including the Brisbane Hilton Masterclass Weekend, which attracted an impressive who’s who of international chefs and winemakers to Australia.

A move to Melbourne in 2000 inspired the timely launch of Betsy Pie International Communications, her boutique PR agency specialising in travel, tourism and lifestyle clients.

Betsy is married to Melbourne architect Anthony Pie and they have two sons, Hunter and Charlie.
